1920x1080_A look at Super Bowl LVI's crazy numbers-Ron

The Super Bowl is the culmination of the NFL season and one of the biggest sports events in the world.

This Sunday, February 13th marks the 56th edition of the Super Bowl with the Los Angeles Rams facing the Cincinnati Bengals. The Rams have the advantage of playing the game at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. This marks only the second time in NFL history where a team is playing a Super Bowl at home after last yearā€™s Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Even so, the Bengals have the betting public on their side despite the disadvantage. 63% of the bets and 59% of the money wagered are backing Cincinnati to win according to data released by Draft Kings Sportsbook. They also have famous bettor Jim ā€œMattress Mackā€ McIngvale on their side, placing the biggest legal sports wager of all time on the Bengals to win it all.

It’s no surprise that the Super Bowl attracts huge sums of money considering the massive scale and importance of this game in American culture. The big game sets massive, record-breaking numbers every year. These are the craziest figures from Super Bowl LVI.

$70,891 ā€“ The most expensive ticket sold according to SeatGeek. There are very few seats more luxurious than this one at SoFi Stadium and this is the best available. The average ticket price for this year is $9,648.

$150,000 The bonus available for each player on the winning team. In addition to salary, players receive incentive bonuses for each playoff game they play. There is a $75,000 bonus for each player on the losing Super Bowl side as well to ease the pain.

$5 million – The biggest legal sports wager of all time, placed by Texas mogul Jim ā€œMattress Mackā€ McIngvale. This is his second bet on the Bengals to win, racking up a total of almost $10 million riding on the team. Mattress Mack stands to win a total of $16,207,800 if the underdogs prevail.

$7 million ā€“ The cost of a 30-second TV ad for this yearā€™s broadcast. A game will usually run 70 ads, which will bring the total advertising revenue up to almost $500 million for the network. The total ad revenue in 2021 was at $485 million according to Statista.

$117 million ā€“ The projected total audience for Sundayā€™s big game according to data released by demand-intelligence company PredictHQ. This will break the previous record of 114.4 million viewers of the Super Bowl in 2015 between Tom Bradyā€™s New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks.

$220 million ā€“ The media rights payout to each NFL team this season. This value is set to increase to $377 million by 2032 under the leagueā€™s new contracts. This amount usually makes up most of the annual revenue for each NFL team.

$477 million ā€“ The projected Los Angeles revenue generated by the game and its surrounding festivities according to Micronomics. A total of estimated 150,000 visitors will be coming to the city on game day.

$5.5 billion ā€“ The total construction cost of the venue. The SoFi Stadium is currently the worldā€™s most expensive sporting venue, with a capacity of up to 100,000 seats ā€“ including 13,000 premium seats and 260 luxury suites. It is safe to say that no expenses were spared to create this state-of-the-art ground.

$7.61 billion ā€“ The estimated amount of money to be wagered on the game. This figure is up by 78% from last year according to American Gaming Association, with 31.4 million Americans planning to bet on Sundayā€™s game. Legislation changes have definitely helped this number, as 30 US states currently offer sports betting compared to just 20 in 2021.
