It’s not surprising for athletes to have other interests and even venture on business ideas. For Tom Brady, he sets his eyes on entering the fashion world. And it’s not just your everyday apparel. Tampa’s quarterback recently launched his high-end apparel line, Brady Brand.
In a video announcement, Brady said “Today is officially the day after three years in the making. Brady brand is officially launched”. He added, “Every item’s unique, it’s innovative, and it’s got great function and purpose”.
BradyBrand.com says that “BRADY is the first technical apparel brand to apply two decades of pro sports level innovation and engineering to create a system of clothing that performs across every activity”.
Even before the launch of his apparel line, the Buccaneers quarterback is already promoting the brand. He’s been seen wearing BRADY pieces throughout the season.
Aside from the fashion brand, TB12 was in the news. TB12 signed 10 athletes, 9 of them are collegiate players, who will help Tom Brady’s marketing campaign. Among athletes include Michigan Wolverines quarterback Cade McNamara and Jackson State’s Shedeur Sanders. The eight other athletes played basketball, tennis, and hockey.
In an Instagram post, Brady said “Partnering with these young athletes has been one of the most rewarding parts of this entire @bradybrand process. I can’t wait to see you all rocking BRADY in the wild”.
Brady also told Hypebeast that BRADY Brand will release an NFT collection. Plus, the company will also accept cryptocurrencies. Brady said to Hypebeast “I think everyone’s going to take cryptocurrency at some point and then it’s just a matter of time”.
Too Expensive for the Average Joe?
Brady Brand’s collection includes shirts, shorts, socks, hoodies, and coats to name a few. Unfortunately, Twitter users had different reactions when they saw Brady Brand’s website. Some fans are surprised by the price of the products.
In one tweet, a user said “Ouch man…The gear looks great but the prices are outside the reach of the normal Joe”. Another user said “No average joe is gonna be able to afford this Tommy. Would love to support your brand but I’d rather pay my electric bill”.
T-shirts are selling for $75 while hoodies are sold for $95. For fans looking for the cheapest product on the website, then they can buy a pair of socks for $20.
Other users understood that Brady Brand offers luxury apparel. A user said “It’s a luxury brand not meant for the average Joe. Please stop complaining about the prices and just buy a different brand of clothing”.
Brady announced via Twitter that the first batch is “just the beginning”. He added “I can’t wait to share what’s next”. Brady said, “I’m gonna take you guys on this journey with us”.
